Lining up my next victum. Bit of a problem to replace the steering gear because....
I'm working in a two car in use garage.
Truck has been lowered.
Has headers.
Don't have any help.
I'm old!
Anyway it's a pain getting it up high enough and working in tight spaces. Take it out the bottom or the top? Thinkin of using a ratchet strap around the booster to lower it out the bottom. Probably go with Red Head. Not sure about the ratio.
Found my thread of when I replaced it. I couldn't get it through the top. Because yours is lowered, you may want it on ramps so you can loosen up the pitman arm connection. Good luck. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ering-box.html
Might wanna give Blue Top a try. Both are quality rebuilds but Blue Top is typically 10-15% cheaper than Red Head. Same family just two different business's.
