I installed a stubby antenna on my 2017 F150. After a few months all I was getting was static , so I decided to reinstall the factory antenna. While removing the old one the stud bolt broke off in the bracket that is connected to the fender.I know that I will need to replace the bracket that is attached to the fender. Looking at a parts list I cant tell if there is a connection just inside the cab near the glove box or do I need to run the cable all the way to the radio?
Any help will be appreciated.
dunno, but a tip...I have had the same stubby antenna on my last three trucks. Put clear silicone jelly (the kind they sell to rain seal sparkplug wires) on the female hole and antenna threads otherwise the different metals will corrode, bond and it will f-up again. Unscrew antenna every year or two and re-apply the silicone.
