New printer question (help all you printer experts !! )

Hi all
I just got a new printer (HP 5652) installed on my laptop. I used the install CD, and the USB cable to connect it to the printer. Here's the problem: after about 10 or so minutes goes by, every time I go to print a document, the computer will not sense there is even a printer installed. When I go to "install new printer" it says the operation could not be performed. I got into "control panel" into the printers folder, and NOTHING is in it. It's blank. When I restart the computer, it all magically reappears for another 10 or so minutes, and that's it again.

Any suggestions on to what's going on here?

That's a new one on me. I think I'd get hold of HP, let them know what system you are running and tell them about the glitch.

That happens to me too every once in a while

Could be a bad cord to the PC.

Not the power cord ,the other one
Keep checking the connection at computer case.
