Looking for some help identifying something.

[There's a hose busted off this air box and I can't figure out where it's supposed to go to or if it's supposed to go anywhere. It's a 93 f150 but I had a 1990 engine put in. I don't think there is any difference between the two engines but I really don't know

The box is a charcoal canister and is part of the EVAP system. Typically used to hold gas fumes from your gas tank (a line to one of the ports) until they can be "vacuumed" into the intake manifold area to be burned via a vacuum source on the other port. IF you have 2 of these they are usually in series, with a hose running between them on one of the ports and if so the second or lowest canister to the ground can have one of the ports capped to close the loop so the vacuum works correctly.

The box is a fuel vapor canister. It should have one lhose coming from a hard line on the right frame rail from the fuel tank and another line going to a solenoid and then to the intake. It’s function is to store excess vapor from the fuel tank and burn during certain driving conditions. Sorry don’t have a picture. You paid for that fuel vapor, might as well burn it. Bonus, it stays out of the atmosphere.

That is your EVAP emissions hose common to the charcoal canister. The plugged end in the photo goes to the purge canister/solenoid, usually mounted on passenger side back by the PCV valve.
