sg1099,

My truck has a 5.0 and is a 91, but you may have the same type of evap canister I do. My truck has coffee can looking ones which are vacuum canisters. There is a rectangle one that is the evaporative emissions canister. The fuel tank vent line runs up to it. The canister is filled with charcoal which absorbs the fuel vapors when the truck is off. When the engine is running, fresh air is let into the top of the canister while vacuum is applied through a separate hose to the canister, drawing the vapors into the intake. Here are a couple of pictures of mine. These pictures are from the AllDataDiy website. Hope this helps!

Chris

Sure would like to see a picture of the camo F150, thinking about doing it to mine. Did you get it in camo or do it yourself? If you did it yourself, how did you do it?

sorry it took so long to get back but, when the job calls i got to listen. yes i did the camo job my self. first i sanded the truck with a scotch-brite pad, than hosed it down. when dry,i used 6-7 cans olive drab paint.i had done some trimming of some bushes and used them as the pattern. spray flat black and brown, with touches of gray primer i had laying around.just lightly spray around the edges.one section at a time,ie...hood,fender,door side of bed, tailgateand so on. if you mess up hit it with olive drab again, start over.i dont know how to move pics from my garage to here.if i did i could do so. sorry. thanks for the help.

Thankyou White and SG!!

That looks awesome, exactly what I would like to do with mine. Im thinking of using brown for the base coat though. What kind of paint did you use? Rustoleum has a camo line out with about 4 different colors. I read in some other places that if you want it to hold up to go back over it with a few coats of clear, maybe that doesn't matter though..

Anyway,, it really looks great....

i used mostly primer colors but, the base was krylon olive drab.i think the primers were also krylon.glad you like the pics.i didnt clear coat it because i wanted to be able to touch up if needed in the dull finish.which i have done.the under brush in florida is thick, and to get back to my honey hole gets bad.just have fun with the paint.mask off stuff you dont want painted.for a woods truck its great, have fun with it.
