'87 fuel vent line
i have a '87 project woods truck.straight 6, 4 sd granny,35"tires,camo .i got the fuel issues about wrapped up,but the vent hose that is connected to the fuel tank, goes to the engine bay.i don't know where it goes.it travels along the right frame and sticks up just rear and below the battery.i was told it connect to a canister of sorts but what?there are two round and one rectangle.what are these canisters, what do they do,where do they go?got to do my honey do list, check back later, thanks.

sg1099,
My truck has a 5.0 and is a 91, but you may have the same type of evap canister I do. My truck has coffee can looking ones which are vacuum canisters. There is a rectangle one that is the evaporative emissions canister. The fuel tank vent line runs up to it. The canister is filled with charcoal which absorbs the fuel vapors when the truck is off. When the engine is running, fresh air is let into the top of the canister while vacuum is applied through a separate hose to the canister, drawing the vapors into the intake. Here are a couple of pictures of mine. These pictures are from the AllDataDiy website. Hope this helps!

sorry it took so long to get back but, when the job calls i got to listen. yes i did the camo job my self. first i sanded the truck with a scotch-brite pad, than hosed it down. when dry,i used 6-7 cans olive drab paint.i had done some trimming of some bushes and used them as the pattern. spray flat black and brown, with touches of gray primer i had laying around.just lightly spray around the edges.one section at a time,ie...hood,fender,door side of bed, tailgateand so on. if you mess up hit it with olive drab again, start over.i dont know how to move pics from my garage to here.if i did i could do so. sorry. thanks for the help.

Thankyou White and SG!!
That looks awesome, exactly what I would like to do with mine. Im thinking of using brown for the base coat though. What kind of paint did you use? Rustoleum has a camo line out with about 4 different colors. I read in some other places that if you want it to hold up to go back over it with a few coats of clear, maybe that doesn't matter though..
Anyway,, it really looks great....
