Hey does anyone know of a program that i can download that will get rid of these pop up ads. I am not looking for the program that just blocks the ads. I Have somethign in my computer that a damn website put it that just pops up random pages even when im not web surfing. Anyone know what to do, pleasae help thanks

I have Ad Aware that I got from download.com and I also got Spyware Blaster. But for some reason I can't find it at download.com tonight. There are lots of free downloads there to get rid of spyware that messes your machine up. If I can find where I got the free download of Blaster, Ill post later and let you know. It even removes the nasty xupiter spyware that is almost like a virus. I got it somewhere and had to reformat to get rid of it, before I found blaster. Blaster watches for it and wont even let it load. Also if you go into the control panel, click administrative tools, then services. When that window opens scroll down to messenger services and right click and turn it off. That has nothing to do with messaging friends or anything, but it sends info out and also receives pop ups from 3rd parties. You may have to turn it off every time.... I just discovered mine was on again... but with ad aware and spy blaster I still haven't gotten any spy ware. And the google pop up stopper seems to work great too.

The best place to download Ad-Aware is from the maker.
Try : http://www.lavasoft.de
They have a free version and a Pro version which cost a little. I use the free version and it works fine for me. If you get it check for updates frequently because they update if about once a week.

I have used Ad-Aware for some time and it works well.

This will not affect programs like Instant Messenger, the messenger programs it disables are for some obscure system that allows corporate types to pass newsletters amoung their offices.
