Trailer TPMS sensor error after new tires....

I had installed the trailer TPMS on our travel trailer about 2 months ago and it was working perfectly.

Had a set of new tires installed and the system detected just one sensor and set a "Trailer Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" message.
I don't see and info on clearing the error message or retraining the sensors. I don't see a way to retrain the trailer sensors, only add a new trailer, which I tried, and didn't work.
Got the double horn beep....
I tried the "flashers 3X in ten seconds" to retrain the truck system - truck system OK, same trailer error.

Any ideas before I head to the dealer?

Did you ever get this issue resolved? If so, how?

Three new sensors.....

Apparently the "tech" who installed the tires was brand new - Two crushed sensors and one completely missing.

At the time the sensors were backordered. After waiting about two months for new sensors and having them installed
all's well. Had to delete and then re-add the trailer before programing the sensors.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like one of the keys to success is completely deleting the trailer instead of adding a new trailer which I hoped I could
do to retain the mileage info stored. At least my guess is the mileage will be deleted, was this the case for you?

The kit I have is HC3Z-1A189-C, does the replacement sensor from Ford have a HC3Z-1A189-D skew on the package, but has HC3T-1A180-CA
stamped on the sensor?

I am thinking about ordering a new 2020 F-450 and also a new 5th wheel with 3-axels. I also plan on ordering the Ford customer placed rear camera and trailer TPMS. Does anyone know if the Ford TPMS system will support 6 tires on a trailer? The 2019 owners manual only shows 4 tires in the picture. I currently use an aftermarket system that will support up to 22 tires on my 2008 F-250 and 2-axel 5th wheel. That works but the sensors are attached to the end of the valve stem and I had two valve stems on both the truck and trailer fail before I went to the metal valve stems. So far they are OK.

I believe there is a way to adjust the mileage on a stored trailer. Just don't forget to write down the mileage before you delete the trailer. I _would_ do something like that.

Unless something changed for 2020, the F-450 does not have TPMS in the truck's tires. The TPMS system does work with the trailer though. I think the package comes with 4 sensors and you have to order two more.

My 2019 F350 can support 2, 4 and 6. And like HRTKD said, the kit only comes with 4.

Thanks for the answers. I was not aware that the F450 was not available with TPMS. According to the 2020 Order Guide, that has not changed. The TPMS kit now comes with 6 sensors now.
As the 450 tires will not be monitored, I guess that it would be best to stick with my after market system.

Just a follow-up that may help somebody... I don't think deleting my trailer helped what I was doing. And when I tried to adjust my miles after adding the trailer back, I didn't find the option to allow me to do so.

I guess my biggest mistake was attempting to add a replacement TPMS that my tire shop installed that was at the same frequency (433Mhz), but was of a universal type. In all my many attempts, I just could not get the universal guy to work. I finally had to break down and buy a replacement from Ford. Oh yeah, don't let the dealership tell you that the TPMS that mounts in the truck tires (315MHz or something like that) are the same that are for the trailer, NOT!!!

What I had to do to get all 4 tires to relearn, I first "added a new trailer" with 2 tires. After that was successful, I went back in and "added a new trailer" with 4 tires.
Then I was finally able to rest after a couple weeks of messin around. Others may be lucky enough to just add with 4 on the first attempt and be successful, not my experience.
