advice needed please.

So I found a guy who owns a landscaping business that has two 2001 f150's that he's selling very cheap, I'm going this afternoon to take a closer look, but all I know is that they are both V8's one is a 4.6 and one a 5.4. both have around 220000 miles and he says they both are running rough but are drivable. I need a truck and the price is so cheap i'm really considering buying one of them and I was wonder what you guys would think I need to check out. I know the 5.4 and the 4.6 of this era are known to be pretty decent well past this mileage but what are some things that could be indicative of something major on them. obviously it would be a gamble but what are you guys thoughts? thanks in advance?

I would take a Scanner and look at the data.
This should offer a reason for rough running it any data is out of normal limits.
At that mileage he has run out of business deprecation on those trucks.
So will sell as is.
Good luck.
