if its NOT DIRTY... exchange it every 5 years....

that is "IF" you have the 5 year anti-freeze..

no flush unless it DIRTY.

my opinion.

I don't "flush" my coolant system. I prefer to do "partial exchange" every few years. A total flush is almost impossible to achieve; there's always some left in the system unless you drain the block by pulling the block plugs. Depending on how well one "flushes" the system, you can have an imbalance of the intended concentration % due to left-over volume in the block. Depending upon which coolant one has in their truck (orange is fairly common now; it's HOAT), it's important to get old stuff out and new stuff in every few years (2-3 years). I realize that some of these are "rated" at 5 year coolants, but I'd rather do a "partial" every few years. I just dump as much as I can get out of the rad and hoses, and refill. The upside to my technique is that I'm never out of balance on the % concentrate. Because I don't dilute the system with a flushing agent, I never have to worry about being out of balance. 50/50 is assured when you replace old with new, rather than flush.

About 4 flush cycles with distilled water and your getting almost clear water out the radiator. Look up the fluid capacity in your owners manual and add 50% of that total of orange coolant and top off with more distilled water.
