Hey everyone, I’m new to the power stroke world as well as this forum. I have a 2004 F-350 6.0 PSD
All of this happened in ONE day
- Morning time I noticed that starting my truck took a little while longer
each time afterwards my truck would require me to crank it longer and longer
the morning I was cranking it for about 3-4 seconds
and it progressively got worse to about 10 seconds
later that same day , I would have to crank it multiple times to start and it would sluggishly start
and about 4 hrs later
it didnt start, multiple cranks
so I purchased some ether and spray it in
it started like a champ with ether
now my dilemma is
I don’t want to use ether anymore
I replaced both fuel filters
oil is not low but I have yet to do an oil change about 10,000
way too long but an emergency game up and haven’t had the chance to
I am doing an oil change in the next week
is there anyone who knows anything about this
I have heard it’s the HPOP
Fuel pump even
Fyi, you're gonna need to give the guys data to get much help. Do you have an OBDII reader? Check out the Tech Folder to find the no start checklist. Some simple things to confirm: Does the oil pressure gauge register when cranking? Take the top off the fuel bowl and crank the engine from under the hood (touch cable to the starter to the battery) so it doesn't start to see if the bowl fills up quickly. Ditto with the oil filter to see if it fills. Listen for the sound of the fuel pump at key on and for each injector to buzz in sequence. Are your batteries strong? It has to hit 150 RPM to start.
