I have recently upgraded my travel trailer to a toy hauler and my tow mirrors do not telescope far enough to see around it. I currently have upgraded 08+ tow mirrors on my ex. I am sure I am not the first to have this problem but I have been unable to find a solution. Has anyone else found a solution that I may be missing?
I don't have a solution but.. I have a question. I too have the newer mirrors that are electric but haven't plugged them in due to different connections. How did you connect yours?
I'm sure someone has a good answer. My guess is an attachment to the side to add another mirror but I'm not sure..
My old mirrors were heated and had the turn signals in them. The ones I bought were plug and play but they do not have the power telescoping or fold feature.
I have the standard 04 tow mirrors and find they need to go out about 1" more each side so I can see down the sides of the trailer. This does leave a dead area in the back that can make it hard to see if someone is there or not when you go to change lanes. I already have a camera on the back of my trailer, so I am going to add 2 more, one on each side looking back with a quad screen display in the EX so I have a better view of what is around the trailer. I'll be mounting them just below the roofline of the trailer just in front of the axles. For the 4th position on the display, I'm going to add a camera to the inside so I can watch the cargo (My Shelby in most cases).

I also upgraded to the '08 style, anticipating towing a camper some day. How long is your hauler and what brand mirror did you happen to buy?

Hmm.. mine came stock with the same options but my mirrors were not plug n play. Thank you for the reply. Hope you get your blind spots figured out!

I cant find the brand on the mirrors. I bought cheap ones off of ebay for less than $150. The viewing area is much bigger than the factory tow mirrors but the glass does vibrate more than the factory mirrors do. As for my new trailer, I just picked up a Torque XLT T31. Its just shy of 38 feet. So far we love the trailer, I just really wish I could see around it better when towing it.
i don’t think I can make those work for the way I use my ex but those are the 1st option I have seen that would actually let me see around my trailer. Heck with those I might see around the truck and trailer behind mine.
