I purchased a 2009 F150 for my son and can not locate OBD2 to pull codes. I have a 7.3 and a Ranger so I know where they are typically located, but I cant for the life of me locate it on this truck. Had a couple buddies looking under dash and we are all confused!!!
Where in the hell could it be???
I really don't want to take into Ford dealer.😡
Thanks man .. that is where I thought but it is completely gone.
I just don't know why it would be removed or if this is something Ford did at manufacturing.
I need to access codes so I guess its off to Ford...ugh!
It had to have one to leave the factory. If the truck was previously registered in a locale with mandated OBDII emissions testing, it had to have one.
Remove the trim panel under the steering column and look around. A previous owner may have relocated the connector or, worst case, hacked it up for whatever reason.
It had to have one at the factory to be able to pass the end of line test. If it can't connect to the tester it can't pass the test. If it doesn't pass the test it doesn't ship.

From below, has ~3" run that goes to the fat harness directly above it

Ran out to grab a few photos to show how to backtrack to find out where it is. As you can see in the photos, the plug runs directly into the fat harness running along the bottom edge of the dash via ~3" of wire. Check the harness for where the OBD2 port branches off. As you can see, it is a straight shot straight up to it so it should be very simple for you to find it from below or even easier if you pull on the top left and right corners of the big panel below the steering wheel. There is a clip on each corner. Once released, you'll be able to easily see straight down in there from the top.
It's very possible the previous owner broke off the plastic tabs holding it on somehow and just tied it up behind that dash panel.

OMG man, you are friggin' awesome!! Thanks so much to take time tracing that for me !!g
I'll run that down and post back what I find when my son comes over tomorrow.
Found it!!
I purchased it from a pest control company that had zip tied port high under dash with tracker plugged into it.
Can't believe I couldn't find it😂
