Howdy All
I'm going to remove some after factory wiring under my dash installed by previous owners and would like to know for sure how the dash on my '96 XLT goes together. The last thing that I want to do is break a piece of plastic that can't be replaced.
Does anybody have a link to schematics that would show where the various connection points are and how they come apart?
Hows about anybody with a link to replacement parts? The first panel that I will need to remove the the cover below the steering column where the fuse panel is. The bottom screws are obvious. But then the top feels like it is a snap in connector. I really don't want to snap the panel into three pieces.
Thanks.
Ron

I don't know of any schematics, but I have taken my dash apart a few times, so I can say the bottom piece does in fact just snap in at the top. Just pull gently straight back, towards the back of the truck and it will pop out. As far as replacement parts go, a junkyard, eBay, or Craigslist will be your best bet for most dash parts. Most dash parts have been discontinued and aren't available new. So just be gentle and take your time when removing stuff.
well I cant figure out how to attach an image. But I have the shop manual for a 95 from LMC truck. It has exactly what you need. I don't have PM myself, but I can give it to you if you need...somehow...
