Hi I bought four door hinges used for my f150 project. The lower hinges are the exact same. Are their LH and RH lower door hinges or do I have to flip them. The two little ***** on the lower hinge. Should they face up or down? WTF? The shop manual shows only one door side. Maybe I was sent 2 lower hinges from one side? LMC says they are both exactly the same with no LH or RH listing.

Harry, I don't know where you live, but I bought a good used set from collis truck parts in Northampton pennsylvia. He does ship as well. Another route is buying the bushing kit, it's not hard to do, drill out the old pin, tap in a bronze bushing then insert the new pin. I've had to do this on several mid 70s vehicles with heavy doors and weak hinges that don't have repop or NOS parts availability (76 Cutlass 442, 78 Z/28, etc) and it is an cheap, lasting Fix. I am not sure if they are interchangeable from top to bottom or side to side, but looking at them, it looks possible. The hinges are slotted and the backing olates move around about a 1/4 inch in the doors and on the door posts as well, so there is plenty of room for adjustments. CAUTION these doors aren't light, quality control was crap in the 70s, and every set of doors and hinges is slightly different. Be sure to mark your old hinges before removing them, save any shims that may be in there, and have a beefy friend help you with removal and installation....and even then, you'll spend a few hours getting the door strike, seal and alignment right. Remember you can set the door striker post loosely to help with re installation and then torque it down when all is well. Good luck
