Ok i tried to bolt up the AOD to the FE. I purchased the kit and transmission from Trans Depot. My question I tried to wrangle it in today by myself, looks like its very tight fit!!!. I actually had to modify the adapter plate, too close on the left side of firewall.
I'm thinking it would be a lot easier if i removed the front cross-brace? NO not the trans Mount cross-brace, which it looks like i have to move back a few inches. i already removed that.
Has any body installed on of these AOD in Highboy? Any suggestion, things learned in trying to fit this. Please, don't tell me i have to modify the firewall tunnel as this is and upgrade on an already 4 year old restoration?
Thanks I cut out the front crossmember unfortunately I bought a cheap *** transmission jack from HF. Doesn’t go up high enough. I’m think8ng easiest way is t.o get the AOD installed pull the motor. More work. ThisAODbetter be worth it!
Oh man, that engine def qualifies as truck ****. There are a bunch of great looking trucks on this website, your trucks color combo is by far my favorite.
