Door rattle
The orange tape was an a quick fix that didn't work. The foam tape below was to see how much clearance there is.
The main thing is the silver ring above the latch, where the paint is worn to metal. This is where the rubber door bump hits. The part where the latch hooks is also worn. The whole door rattles on every bump. I'm trying to find new parts but don't see the rubber door bump which is worn. I read that someone had used the bump stop from a hood to get the door to close tighter. I'm going to try some foam tape to see if I can smother the rattle. And I may try drilling and tapping another bump stop further down. This is the driver side front door(s-crew) so it gets opened and shut all the time. Any one else have this issue? Had the rattle for long time but could not find it and only recently pushed really hard on the door and no rattle.
