Where the ___ is the Ignition control module f700

Have a 96(the owner says) f700 with tilt down hood and the 7.0l 429. The manufacturer date is 03/97. I would call it a 97 but maybe with the big trucks dates are a lil different, I don't know but anyway. Have a crank no start with no spark. 99% of the time with any Ford and a dizzy no spark means either the module or the PiP. So where the hell is the module on this thing? It isn't the dizzy with the TFM on the side of the distribuor it is definitely a remote module but I can't find it. I looked in both frame rails, too by the coil, all the places where a mechanic with any common sense would look. Any help would be great and a pic would be....well just wow.

Try the top center of the firewall. Look under/around the A/C lines.

Look on the right (passenger side) inner fender apron, parts catalog pic shows module located there.

Factory service manual shows it where I described... Both sources can't be right.

There isn't a inner fender cause its the tilt hood. Firewall is also a bust. Seriously I was so mad looking for the stupid thing. I even thought for a min it had need removed that's why I couldn't find it. Can't find the plugs if it had been removed. I hate to slice into the harness and pull out the wire from the dizzy to track it down. But that's looking like my only frickin option.

I guess they can both be wrong, though..

Mystery. Let us know where you find it!

Rockauto, for the F700 w/7.0L, both 1996 and 1997 shows this part which looks like the standard on-distributor control module:

Scratch that. It's plainly not on the distributor.

Here's the diagram from the 97 EVTM. 96 is the same. See text in zone A5.

Unless you have a truck with the same layout as he does, it doesn't help. It only creates more confusion.

I gave him the factory service manual information. Either the manual is wrong or there's something odd going on on his end.

Top center firewall.

Just changed mine yesterday didn't fix the problem on a truck still won't start. It's in the center of the firewall at the very top you can't miss it. You will need size 10 sockets to remove the plate from the firewall which holds the module in a size 11 socket to take off the screws that hold the module on to that plate. You will then also need a 7/32 socket to remove the two screws that holds it on
