So i will go try it again once everything cools down a bit, but either my wiring just got super flaky or thr summer heat is affecting my vent window switches. I went to move it today so it would be in the shade about now so i could check some things over and when i went to open the vents only 1 worked and once it was open it wouldn't close. I dropped the console a bit and everything up there was uncomfortably hot (dark green paint sitting it full sun at nearly 90F) after the ac ran for a few min i could get that 1 window to close and reopen and close then it stopped again. But nothing on passenger side and it isn't stuck to the rubber, like i said will try again after it has had a chance to cool.
Anyone else have this happen??? It kinda makes sense that the heat could affect switches and or motors but not entirely sure
Flyboy, I've been having similar troubles with my vent window switches. Usually opens fine but doesn't want to close every now and then. It can be either side. I drive for a while or wait until the next day and the switch functions properly. I don't get it.
Expansion and contraction can cause plug connection issues for sure. Happens on my older pinball machines often.
If you have patience, pull the console, use a mini flat blade screw driver, gently and slightly compress all of the female spade connectors in each plug bundle.
Then I just cover each top opening of the female terminals with Lubriplate and re-assemble.
