Since this is the same tear down I have a hub question. 1 hub seems tight to turn manually the other turns easily but when I took it apart it is destroyed inside.
When I look for replacement I see hubs with auto and lock and with free and lock what is the difference?

I don't know that they are 'vacuum dependent', I think that they can still be manually engaged but Warn and Milemarker are two names of manually operated hubs that have come up as being preferred by many over the OEM hubs but I don't know what the reasons are.
What I understand is that the casting for the adapter rough cast inside I would have to get it opened up smoothed out and warns will work at this point I want to get it back together ASAP.
