bad tire feathering???

hey hows it goin guys i have a problem with my front tires feathering the passenger side is doing it real bad and the 3rd tread lug is lookin like 50% left when the rest is 75% what can be doing this??? i just replaced the ball joints and i was told i probably need to replace my tie rods but my alignment seems fine and i dont really shake either (maybe a little doing 80mph on the freeway)

Have you had your tires balanced lately? Mine do the same thing and the balancing is usually pretty good when I take it in. I might need new shocks.

It's hard to tell from a desription. I agree with totin_tools, a wheel balancing is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to start. I don't know when your last alignment was, but that could be a good idea too (a small toe problem could result in tire wear issues). Not to mention that they should have pulled both outer tie rods out of the knuckles to do your ball joints. Lastly it could be a camber issue. The Super Duty's do not have adjustable camber. It is a sleeve/spacer that goes in the top of the knuckle that the upper ball joint sits in. You can buy adjustable kits to install but you have to tear down the knuckle to put it in.

As a longshot, I would check the camber sleeve on the top of both knuckles to make sure they look the same and the shop re-installed them correctly.

alright guys ended up going to the alignment shop and its my tie rods and ends i guess they are pretty tired but they want $1000 to replace it all does anyone know of a place to buy cheaper kits or parts?? maybe a write up also
