I had a broken ignition switch and a bad tail light switch (part of head light switch). Both were repaired and now the cruise control does not disengage when I tap the brakes. The CC will disengage when I touch the off button on the steering wheel. Any ideas on what got crossed up during the repair of the ignition and tail lights? Thanks, Dan
The signal to deactivate the cruise control comes from the stop light switch and through the clutch interlock switch or jumper module and/or pressure switch, depending on what you have.
Its a 1988 f250, 351W with automatic (C6) transmission. I'm wondering what was incorrectly rewired on the steering column to cause this problem. Thanks, Dan
The brake switch is the only electrical switch you have on this system. Its wiring does got through a plug on the column.
You need to check your vacuum dump valve also.
