Last time I checked it out it was invoice minus .04% plus an admin fee of $275. That means x plan is just a bit higher than invoice unless the invoice is pretty high. But I think I read somewhere that the admin fee went up so don’t quote me on that. With that said, invoice and x plan are generally pretty close.
When I researched this prior to purchasing my new truck last month, I found X-Plan to be over invoice. I had someone at the dealership pull up the pricing sheet that showed invoice, x-plan, as well as the other "plans" for employees and such, the only plans that come out under invoice were the ones for Ford employees. My salesman was already selling me the truck at invoice minus rebates, so it came out cheaper than x-plan.
.4% under invoice plus $275 admin fee is correct. It also limits doc fees to $100 which usually more than compensates for the admin fee. Here are the complete details. https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerw...tner_rules.htm

Be careful with that BS. Just had a friend go into a dealership, salesman CLAIMING he was selling a new Fusion (2017 leftover) at BETTER than A plan price. We all knew he was full of **** thankfully, but he refused to produce the invoice.....so we walked. Needless to say that dealership got reported.

Oh yeah, I wish I could have gotten A-Plan pricing, that would have been much better. What I was saying was that my salesman beat the X-Plan pricing when he sold it at invoice minus available rebates, A-Plan was much cheaper than that...
The X-Plan was several hundred over invoice.

It is Invoice minus (invoice * 0.4% which is invoice * 0.004) plus $275 admin fee (up to this point it is set in stone). Then the dealer can charge up to $100 for paperwork fees plus tax, title and license.
Anything over $65k will make xplan cheaper then invoice.

Anything over $65k, xplan is cheaper. So depending on what you bought, yes invoice could be cheaper. But for someone whondoesnt want to play 5 dealers against each other or fly 1,000 miles to save a little under invoice, xplan is a nice quick way to get a $80k under invoice without any negotiating.
X plan also limits what fees the dealer can charge. Around these parts, dealers love to tack on a dealer service fee or some nonsense good for 389 bucks or more.
A buddy of mine was also lined up to buy a Expedition and the salesman said not to worry about X plan, that he'd give him a better price. After reviewing the paperwork, the extra fees and charges kicked the OTD charge up 1,100 as I recall over the X plan OTD price at a different dealer for the identical ordered vehicle.
I have no doubt X plan can be beaten by dealing, but to expect that routinely, I have my doubts.
I had to work really hard to beat xplan by $500 on my '18. I got a great deal IMO but it took more of my time than I would have normally given for a $500 check.
