Ford xplan pricing

Question from a first time new truck buyer.

I am eligable for xplan pricing through my employer and was wondering if anyone has experiences that they would like to share purchasing a vehicale on this plan. Where you able to negotiate off the xplan price or is that about as good a deal as can be had in that it is at or near invoice price?
TIA

As far as Ford is concerned, any of the plans are non-negotiable pricing- and they audit dealers for this. One thing to check is private offers (AQHA, AARP, Military, etc), since they aren't compatible with X-Plan. Sometimes the best deal is a regular price close to invoice less private offer rebates- somthing that actually has to be juggled a bit to see what gives you the best price.

Some dealers will put the X-plan towards vehicle options as well. Make sure you ask about that. The first dealership I went to with my X-plan wouldn't work with me on the options (as well as other things, so I left). The last one I went to did apply it, and I ended up saving a lot of money since I put a lot of options on my truck.

another option you might want to go through would be the CostCo Car Buying Program. The dealerships typically offer the trucks invoice plus $100.00

in addition, you also get any rebates that are applicable

so in my case, I got a loaded FX4 for $36,000 and also got $5,000 off of that ($500 for military and $4,500 rebate)

What do you mean you sell to Costco? I went to the dealership, showed them my card and got the price with no haggle involved. Period. Afterwards, a rep from Costco called and asked about my deal. Great quality control in my opinion.

I compared the X-plan and the CostCo plan. When the dealership showed me the numbers, the Costco Plan was the better deal. Maybe they were trying to rip me off and were successfull, but the option I went with was almost $2000 cheaper

oh yeah, when I said loaded, I meant it. The only difference between my truck and a Lariat is the Message Center thingy.

Costco contracts with dealers in their store market areas. Down here, the trucks can sometimes get sold to COSTCO's broker directly, then on to the consumer. That doesn't mean it isn't a good deal- it is.... but X-Plan's generally better IF it's available to you.

One thing I did notice- you were comparing a Lariat to another model that you ultimately bought. You have to keep it apples to apples to get a legit pricing comparison.

true. I was after a Lariat at first, but the I actually use my 4x4 for offroad and when I found the FX4 with the same options for the same price, I jumped on it

How do you know if you qualify for x-plan?
