Help with Electrical

2012 F350. I’m on vacation and truck is acting up. I get nothing on my instrument panel when in accessory or on position, but truck still starts. After it starts, I get my instrument panel back, but I noticed (at this point) I don’t have wipers or upfitter power after its started. Mirrors, windows work after its started, but not before.

It seemed like it was intermittent for a while when playing with the ignition, but now nothing. I have checked fuses and from what I can tell, all good.

Any ideas for this gremlin?? I originally thought ignition, but everything works after its started. Is there a relay that may be acting up with these symptoms?

Thanks in advance!

If you or your predecessor used the emergency footbrake often, there is a bundle of wires and a big connector wrapped to it. That big connection has lots of stuff flowing through it including rear view camera, and is a known issue of various wires in the bundle coming loose intermittently because of foot brake use. Solution - if this is your source, is unhook the bundle from the brake mechanism, and zip tie the entire bundle out of the way.

If wires have pulled too far out of the connector, you may need to jiggle the connector, or disconnect and inspect what wires have worked out and reposition them before reconnecting, --then zip tie out of the way before it happens again.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Now everything is working this morning. Maybe she just needed a rest, but my concern now is it’s something intermittent.

Still looking for ideas on this as it is an intermittent problem. I’m thinking ignition, but have no idea why the symptoms would occur from that. I recently did the door chime mod too, but don’t see how that could be related to current issue unless I messed something else up when I was in the steering column.

To recap:

“Accessory” position and “on” position are intermittent- meaning, when I turn it to that position at times I don’t have any dash activity. Truck does still start.

When started, upfitter and windshield wipers are the two things I have found that do not work.
