SHOCKS

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!!

I've got to replace my shocks on my newly acquired 1960 F100 Flareside long-bed 4x4. They musta died YEARS ago.
I simply want to bring him back to driver status, and do modest restoration. I am not going to rat-rod him, or go for power, nor will he return to the farm duty he groaned under for so many years. I just want to restore his original mechanical prowess for now.

I have looked up shocks for this on several sites. Rock Auto shows (for original handling) GABRIEL 82123 CLASSIC for the rear, and MONROE 5826 OESpectrum for the front. Again, I'm not looking for much beyond original handling.

Any thoughts, recommends or comments are appreciated. ~Chuck

I went with Monroe 5826 front and Monroe 34954 rear in the same truck. Work fine with no issues.

Thanx, Moonley. I will look up the Monroe 34954. I didn't notice them.

I have the same truck. I’m running KYB’s. KYB-KG5517 on the front and KYB-343149 on the rear. I like them.

Thanx, BAD ROD. They look pretty good too; maybe a bit stronger than the Monroes.

Thanx Chet. I've had KYB's on another vehicle and have no complaints. Since I'm not lowering the vehicle, they could work just fine.

I'm glad you found a quick solution, I spent countless hours researching proper shocks for my truck
