Rancho 9000XL Shocks??
#31
I have rancho 9000's on my 2001 F350, CCSB 4x4 with a leveling kit. Probably the stiffest ride I've ever had. I have read numerous people online say the same thing, one of the stiffest shocks you can buy. But, they are one of the best, and having the ability to adjust them is something people really like. I bought the truck recently with them on, and they are newer, so I might try to grease them now if I can still move mine based on what people have said on here.
Going the Amazon route, the fronts are just under $100 a piece and the rears are just over $100. So about $400 with free shipping plus whatever the rebate is later.
I always check Amazon. I find out what the part number is, and then type it into the search bar on Amazon, and then read the reviews to ensure that is in fact the right part number. Sometimes, you get results that are saying their product is a direct replacement of the part number you out in, so I usually avoid that. It's very, very rare that I find stuff cheaper than Amazon. I got a LUL clutch kit for my 97 f250 7.3 I had from Rock Auto as they we're the cheapest for it even with paying for shipping. And I think there's been 2 other times I found parts cheaper elsewhere. Otherwise, it's pretty hard to beat Amazon.
When the time comes years from now when I need new shocks again, I'm going to try bilsteins simply because of the ride they have. My dad has a 99 F350 CCLB dually 4x4 lifted 4" and that ride is rough to say the least. We put bilsteins on it, and it was a dramatic difference in how nice it rode. Granted, the shocks hadn't been replaced since the lift kit was put on(which happened before my dad bought it) but my dad never daily drove it until the last 6 years and has just now hit 200K miles. But it rides better than I thought a truck if that size would. He has towed their 40' massive 5th wheel across the country and he said it was the nicest it has ever towed.
