Sorry. I came up dry. I thought Mid Fifty had it on one of the last pages of their catalog. But they recently a year or two back sort of upscaled the catalog and I dont see that information there anymore. Once again my apologies. I have a 56 which came off of the assembly line with a Fordomatic. The PO swapped out the original drive train with a 302 and an FMX automatic transmission which is in it now. It still has the Fordomatic emblem under the badge on the hood.

I originally wanted to get a F100 to build with a 429 cobra jet engine, but with this one being so complete and original i think ill restore it to factory original. I talked to the previous owner and found out her grandfather bought the truck brand new in oklahoma and she bought it from him in 1980, now its mine. I am curious what an original restored truck would be valued at, i believe it will cost me about 20 to 30 thousand to get this one in original condition, but i think i can save alot as i will build the chasis, engine and trans myself and have a buddy of mine that runs a body shop do the painting and an upholstry guy fix the seat base.

Sounds like a great plan! It's a wonderful truck. And yes I think having an original, Fordomatic in that truck does make it rare. About auto transmissions, back in the early 60's, a guy who used to have a gas station in my home town, would always look inside your new car while he was pumping gas. If he noticed your new car had a manual he would always say "Oooops! Looks like you got one too many pedals on the floor".

I too have a 54 Fordomatic. My project is getting there - finishing up the wiring right now.

Nice work, just curious, is the tube to the upper radiator hose for cooling the transmission? Some type of heat exchanger

Yes, it is. Combination of three tubes - one from the radiator neck and one of each side the block that tap into the water ducts. All connect to the heat exchanger mounted above and on the right side of the transmission. Remove the transmission floor cover and the heat exchanger is right there.

What rear axle ratios did Fordomatic trucks come with? I suspect the same as manual trans trucks. If so you probably want to re-gear the rear axle to around 3.25 to 1 unless you live in the mountains.
