Manual Hand Throttle Control

My Trucks carburetor has a hand throttle manual cable control on it. Trying to get it hooked back up but for the life of me cannot figure it out. There is only three pieces, that is unless I lost some. Can any of you provide some advise ,a diagram, or picture that might show how it connects to the carb? Of course when I took it off I thought no big deal! I sucks getting old Thanks!

I think there are pieces missing. Shouldn't there be a sliding loose link in there? Scroll down to post #5.

On my 55 F350. I hope this helps. I never had that piece apart. These pics were in my file. If you need better pics I can go out and take more after the World Cup game is over.

Thanks Bob for the Link, but no picture shows up on post #5. The poster says there is a pic of the left side of the carburetor, but not on my computer

Thanks Abe. No need to take any more Pic's. Those are great pictures. Messed with it some more and I cannot get the little bell shaped piece to stay on. It slides on and I give it a quarter of a turn to lock it in. Then when I connect the cable to operate it, it turns it back that quarter of a turn and pops off. I'm sure it is something simple and I just have to luck out Maybe that little bell shaped piece is wore out. It is not critical that it works but you know how it goes.........it bugs the crap out of a guy Maybe I'll contact a Carb Rebuilder.

Spring, then the lever, then the cap. The lever should be pointed down so that when the hand throttle cable is pulled the tab sticking out catches the cap edge and opens the throttle plate. I would put a little grease on all the moving parts.

True, you dont need the hand throttle to drive your truck.

I just noticed on my work pics that the arm the cable attached to is in a different position. These pics were taken at different times, before and after I had the carb off. The throttle **** used to be hard to pull out and I think I see why on the first pic. I'll have to see if the cable still pulls hard....

Good luck Dave. I never had that mechanism apart so I can't help you.

Thank you JB. I have all the parts then. Like I said that little cap is a worn quite a bit and wants to keep falling off. I'll come back to it a different day. Sometimes that works wonders!

you might try a little stiffer spring from your local hardware store or stretch that one out a little.
