What is this glass bowl called on the carb? I am trying to look for a new gasket because it leaks. I can’t seem to find it because I don’t know what it’s called. I looes up fuel systems and carb parts.

That would be the carburetor fuel bowl, or float bowl, depending on who you ask. Either description should be able to get you a bowl gasket.

How do I tell what engine I have? I know it’s a 6 cyclinder. 215? 223? I’m trying to find the right size oil filter.

That would be the 215. The 223 has the breather on the front of the valve cover.

Both the front breather and middle breather valve covers were used on 215 engines. The Jan. 1952 edition of the Chassis Catalog shows both. The easiest ways to tell a 215 from a 223 are by the distributor locations and by the shape of each exhaust manifold. Agree the pictured engine is a 215.

The Holley 1904 glass bowl gaskets are available in the rebuild kits available from Carpenter and others. Finding just the gaskets might be a challenge.

The cartridge oil filter (stock, not spin on) is a Fram CH6PL. Stu

Thank you.

if I unbolt the fuel pump and off to clean or replace, do I need to drain oil from engine first?

When changing the oil, what weight oil should I use and how much?
