lucked up on a pair of the original armrests and mounted them last night. So much easier to close the door. Only problem is that you have to open both doors to raise the seat to get to the tool box!
Hey Moe I can’t remember, I bought them a few months ago, it may have been on eBay. They were in the original box with the template and instructions. I took the truck on about a 2 hour ride today to the lake house and knew they would make the ride more enjoyable so I installed them last night, not hard at all.
Those attach without the Deluxe trim sheet metal bracket?
Ross,
I thought about a set of those also. I am assuming that the armrest is fastened from the backside, i.e., by removing and reaching thru the large access panel. In my case I made a large door "card" fabric covered which kills that approach.

yes, the template lays out two 3/8 holes to drill, then the armrests are attached with two long screws and special bent tabs on the inside of the door. These were used on the 48-50 models although I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t be used on 51-52.
To be quite honest on the drive up here I didn’t really use them, but that was because I was going anywhere between 55 and 60 on the 4 lane and had my hands full on the steering wheel AND constant turning around to watch my dog out the back window who couldn’t seem to settle down.
JB, if you found an NOS kit, and it came with instructions, could you scan and post them here, please? It would be great info to have. A part number and picture of the box, if you had that, too, would be great for the historical information. Those arm rests look great in your truck. They really add to your super clean interior. Nice job!
