Well I decided to go ahead and put the cab lights on my truck. I like them, so on they went. I measured them out very carefully using the measurements that Diesel Brad provided in his DIY and drilled the holes with a 7/64 bit, then drilled the center holes out to 7/8 with a step bit. Fished the wires, touched up the holes with some touch up paint, and put the housings on using #8 stainless steel screws with a dab of RTV on them. I bought 5 new housings from NAPA but they only had two in stock, so the other 3 will be here Monday. I used three of the old ones for now until the new ones come in Monday and I will get this job totally done. But I'm very happy with the results, I think they came out great. Thanks for the input everyone!
Is it an visual distortion or are you missing the stripe at the two tone line from the doors back?
Thank you. Yeah I never put the pinstripe on the rest of the truck after I painted it. It only takes a couple minutes to put it on. I'll get it done sometime, just hasn't bothered me that much.
I would like cab lights myself for additional visibility when I'm out on the back roads, especially when pulling or hauling something....
How much extra light will cab marker lights throw? I would thing you'd never notice them in comparison to even low beams much less high beams. If I needed more light to see better I'd add lights that were designed to throw light to illuminate things for the driver (like fog or driving lights) rather than lights that were designed to let others see you, like marker lights.

I think he was talking about additional visibility for others to see him, not for him being able to see better.

I want to be SEEN. I've no issues with my lighting that allows me to see.

They look amazing, and it seems you took everyone's advice and went with 5 lights
I'm going to do it whenever I have the time and inclination to actually do so.
Thanks, I'm glad I did them, seeing the orange glow that reflects off the hood at night makes it all worth it. It's a fun job to do when you are bored and have a 6 pack of beer laying around.
So I'm just about to do the deed of drilling 15 holes in the roof of my near perfect 93 F150. I want them to look factory in their placement (I know it's a F150 folks). Does anyone know the measurements that Ford factory lights are spaced at? Also, any tips or install experiences are welcomed. Leaking issues? For the record I am using the aftermarket OEM look-a-likes but with the OEM gaskets which seem to be a bit thicker and better quality.
Is there a source to get the factory clips that the screws go into? I'm missing a couple and would like to get some extras if possible. Has anyone found a place? I tried the local stores but the "speed nuts" they sell aren't the same and won't fit length wise.
I'm about to layout the cab lights on my roof. I want them to be "stock" factory positioning. Would you mind letting me know what the measurement is from the very front of the light to the windshield trim? Also center to center distance apart from each other. I assume that the lights follow the curve of the windshield? Thanks. I'll post the finished results.

I am on the fence about this but I want to be sure my windsheild isn't leaking first. My wife told me it does but I am not sure. Seems like water would run along the headliner retainer if it was and down the side where it gets masked by my doors and windows leaking. Got project upon project to plan and dream about.
