Electric 49

This was posted on Facebook. Looks like a nice truck. Also, looks like a F-2 or 3. Asking $12K, not a bad price but you'll need new batteries

Probably needs to be a one ton to carry all those batteries. I fear, though, this may be a case of be careful what you wish for. The way things are going, if we want to keep our old vehicles, we may need to convert to electric and include self driving sensors. I guess the good news will be, we won't need to worry so much about belly room behind the steering wheel.

Are they using car batteries???? Probably need to be a 2 ton to get any sort of range :P
If I had the money I'd take it and convert it to something in the Li family.

I'd miss the the sounds and smells of an old truck. I'd bet it gets a lot of attention at shows and cruise ins.

Very nice looking conversion. New batteries shouldn't be a problem to find.

Not hard, just expensive. This is part of the problem with electric vehicles, in general. When it comes time to replace the batteries, the vehicle is totaled. In this case, the cost could exceed the buy in for the truck.

Not only the cost to buy but can be disposal fees. So far as I know from the last time I bought truck battery I think I was given a $5 credit when I brought in the old one but that could change in the future when theres a glut in used recyclable batteries.

Like tires, as soon as they figure they can get you for a disposal fee to get rid of one, and a hazmat fee for buying one, they will. And when they do we'll start to see batteries dumped out in the boonies like tires are now.
