Engine light on

I have a 2017 Lariat with the 6.7 Diesel w. around 9,000 miles. I happened to noticed that the engine light on the dash is illuminated. Truck runs fine. Checked fuel cap. Any other ideas before taking it in. What a pain!

Get the code read, or just go visit your dealer!

Code readers are less than $50. And they’ll let you use them for free at most autozone type stores. Go find out the code!

Ok, So they kept the truck for 2 days while they order the control module. Put the new module in and it didn’t fix the problem. Now they are doing more digging to see what’s going on. I’m sick right now. The truck was running perfectly when I took it in for this light and now their tearing it apart. 9,000 miles.

They will make it right. No worries, other than you are without right now.

Just so you know, the fuel cap doesn't matter on a diesel. There are no evaporative emissions controls on diesel fuel like a gas engine. Hopefully the dealer gets this squared away.

We are headed up your way next week (Brighton then to Traverse City) if I ever get my truck back. I am from the Detroit area and moved down here to S.C. 2 years ago. Right now I have no faith in this small dealership that I am working with. When I get my truck back I hope that I will think differently if everything goes right.

It turned out to be a glow plug and not the module which we waited a couple of days to get. But they finally made it right.

Outsourcing parts for Ford has been a problem for years. Suppliers dont seem to have the time for quality control like they should. Not much different than the other 2 automakers. Glad you got your truck fixed and are happy again
