I need to know if the stock column auto shifter contains the detents for the transmission (I'm assuming not) or the column shifter is detent-less (Is that a word?).
Thing is, I'm pretty sure the separation between gears is different between a (FMX?) original trans and a 4R75.

Your truck has FX Cruise-O-Matic. FMX only installed in cars and 1973/77 F350's with 300 I-6.

Just measure full sweep of arm on your column and full sweep on trans then change the length of arms until it matches with selector on column
