I'm about to level my 250 and had my heart set on a Carli King Pintop, though my dealership gets good prices on Icon. So wondering about their Stage 5. Either way I'm looking to go with a 2.5" shock body
The full Carli King pintop, radius arms and Deavers is $7200 installed, tax and all. He quoted a Stage 3 plus dual Icon stabilizer for $4500, but the Stage 5 is really only another $500 above that and comes with adjustable compression on all 4. The Icons also don't include the radius arms or Deavers, which puts both kits roughly around the same price
I just test drove an SD with an Icon Stage 2 4" to get a feel. It was nice but the roads were pretty smooth around there. But the more I think about it the Carli King kit is really dialed in to offload performance with all that hardcore custom valving, pistons, etc. I will get it a little dirty every once in a while but its no baja or crawler
So wondering what other folks have to say, suggestions, advice, etc. I did find a few Icon vs. Carli short threads but info was kind of general. Thanks
I had icon without deavers before 2014 and it was great. I now have Carli pintop level with deavers 2017, and it blows the icon away! I regularly find myself taking the Offroad route home from work!
^ this right here. Digressive can be better in some offroad situations in my experience but it's generally worse on road. Progressive is usually more compliant and gives you a much smoother ride.
If you aren't offroading and experiencing huge G-outs, Carli is the way to go. Icon will feel pretty stiff in comparison.

it rides pretty good! Readylift trackbar drop bracket will be here tomorrow. then i'll get it aligned. I got the springs and 4 shocks for less then 400$ so i couldn't resist. lol
