XLT vs XL with STX package

I have been looking at getting a F-350 DRW in the XLT trim but noticed they have a $2,750 incentive on the stx trim, so I tried a build with the XL and stx, To my surprise after adding on the additional stx, and carpet mats its seems like I'm getting almost the same truck as the XLT but three thousand bucks cheaper. The only diffrence seems to be i cant get the power scoping mirrors on the XL and it wont have the running boards either. AM I MISSING SOMETHING ?

No foglamps, harder plastic on the arm rests.

STX can be had with BLISS and Sync3/screen.

You can swap the arm rests and steering wheel if you want to spend a good portion of an afternoon.

In my humble opinion you have stumbled on the best value out there, considering they always seem to be running an STX package discount which makes the option almost free.

I’m a “loaded vehicle” kind of guy, but my stripped-down STX really doesn’t leave me longing for anything except a badass stereo. As long as you’re not constantly envious of somebody else’s fancy stuff, it will give you all the power and suspension of any other Super Duty but $30k cheaper.

I wont lie, though, those King Ranch pickups gimme a ********...

My first long drive to the keys I realized the armrests. Do yo have a part swap number for those? I was going to drop them off at a custom shop for some custom stuffing.

I have XLT premium package. It comes with the following that cannot be had in the xl stx package...
Power folding / scoping mirrors
8 way power adjustable drivers seat
Adjustable pedals
Heated seats
Fog lights
Chrome clad wheels
Reverse sensors
Big center console
Better center gauge LCD screen display
Factory navigation (not 100% on this one)
That's all I can think of right now.

There are threads about it on here.

STX vs XLT

Skid plates; I had to hold the parts manager's hand out to an XLT on the lot, so he could find me a transfer case skid plate in his data base.

The XLT may come equipped with a fuel tank skid plate; but not sure. STX does not.

My XLT had the same steering wheel as my work XL (without STX package). It a urethane wheel. My XLT has no skid plates. I did not order the "premium" package.

I think the XLT comes with the exterior keypad on the door; does not on the XL/STX.
however for $28 you can order the keypad from Tasca and install yourself (as I and several others have done; there's a thread for it).

You're not missing anything. Good value for sure but I just couldn't get there. I tried to buy an XL/STX but couldn't get all of the options I wanted. Off the top of my head I couldn't get the power/heated mirrors and there are only an limited number of colors. Seem to recall a couple other things as well. Last new truck was '93 so I wasn't going to skimp to save a couple grands.

I bought an XLT Premium because it was on the lot. Never even knew there were different levels of XLT until then. But after driving it for the last 17 months or so I don't know that I could go without power folding mirrors. So handy for bank or food drive through spots. I've also grown accustomed to a heated cloth seat. The best option in my opinion. Never been a fan of leather seats.
