I've done quite a bit of searching and haven't found anything conclusive. I have wanted a '59 for 10 years + and I have the opportunity to buy two of them. One is a 2wd, 292, 3 sp, lwb, the other is a 4wd, 223, 3sp od, lwb. Apparently the frame on the 4wd was beyond saving so the guy took the truck apart and kept the axles, t case, etc but the frame with the crossmembers and perches are long gone.
The body on the 2wd is in great shape from the pictures, but the trucks are 2 hours from me so I want to have things figured out before I make the trip. My hope was to cobble together a 4wd, 292, 3sp od, lwb (duh) from the two trucks. I know anything is possible but... you know.
Will the 292 bolt up to the od trans? I have reason to believe the 4wd components will bolt to the 2wd frame if I can find/fab crossmembers and perhaps perches. What do you guys think? Oh yeah and they both have titles and the asking price is $1500.

No 1959/71 F100 4WD was available with 3 M/T with overdrive. These 4WD's were available w/a 3 speed manual or a 4 speed.
Look on the Warranty Plate (riveted to the inside of the glove box door) for the MODEL & TRANS codes, post what they are.
Thanks NumberDummy, the transmission is a T86, so not original then eh? I don't have pictures of the warranty plates, I'm thinking about running over there today but it probably won't happen til next weekend. Any idea about the frame differences? I've ready that late '59 frames are thicker than the earlier ones too.
