Ceramic coat

Hey guys,
I have a 2018 F150 that has paint protection film on the front end and ceramic coating on the whole truck. For those of you that know about ceramic pro, I have a question. I currently have the silver package which is one layer of 9h and one layer of light. I’m contemplating upgrading to the gold package which is 4 layers of 9h and 1 layer of light. What I’m looking to get as far as results goes is protecting the paint from fading down the road. Also from small spider like scratches. Is it worth the upgrade ?Thank you in advance.

You’re way overthinking this. See how well your current coat performs over a year.

If you are concerned about fading, take the clear “protection” film off. The paint will fade differently where it is. It will also yellow and crack over time. By then it’s so hard that it is nearly impossible to remove. I my opinion, the clear film doesn’t look good new or old it works well on painted bumpers though.

why is that? It’s an electric 2200 psi and I use it to make foam before I wash it.

Low pressure power washers are fine.

Also, I don't like paint protective film. After a few years it looks like crap.

My is also wrapped in Protective Film and Ceramic Coated with OptiCoat Pro Plus. Its suppose to be aprox. 7 year coating. So far so good been only a year. Coating still going strong. I use OptiSeal or CarPro Reload to Reload the coating aprox. every two months or so.

These days Xpel Pro will last you in upwards of 10 years no problem. Protective Film ... rather glue on Protective Film i should say its not what it use to be 10 years ago.

oh awesome ! Good looking truck, how happy were you with your paint protection film? I found the over all job great but there were some spots that had to be trimmed due to the edges lifting a bit. I was really **** about it but I paid a lot of money so I wanted it to be done right. Did you have any flaws in yours??

I took my to Chicago Auto Pros. They do their film edgeless whenever they can by folding film over lets say under the hood, bumper etc. I had a lot of custom cutting done because of the Roush Hood Graphics, Side lower Panel stripe graphics and so far good.
