Network/router ?
Hi,
I posted a while back about a netgear router that did not work for me. The issue was that one of my computes could not be seen on the net.
I got a different netgear router AC1200 instead of AC1000, and I had the same issue -- but I solved it. Question is why I had the issue.
When I opened network settings on the problem computer, it showed it to be set for a public network instead of home. I HAD set it to home previously and I never knowingly changed it. Things were better after I changed it to home. ( I know that I had set it to that with the other netgear router as well)
Has anybody else had an unexpected change like that. I scan with Avast weekly, and this is the computer that I'm most conservative with because I use it to pay bills etc. It's a Dell Inspiron 3847 running W7.
Just wondering if there's some kind of virus that does things like that.
