so is it fixed or not ? If you can put POWER to the relay and the starter solenoid kicks in then you need to determine why the truck has no POWER to the relay. When you turn the key to START, you should complete a path thru the neutral start switch to the small wire on the relay and it pulls in and energizes the solenoid.. does that happen ? If you don't have power AVAILABLE at the firewall, maybe the MASTER FUSE is bad ? ........... the battery connects to one side of the FUSE BLOCK, and the other side should have power when key is ON.
Ok that's what I have been starting it with the one on the firewall. I replaced it and bought a starter solenoid and that's what I got, so it's just called a relay. Boy have I got a lot to learn
So now I’m gonna guess that when you jumped the relay you momentarily connected big post to big post and it cranked?
Now have someone turn the key to start while you put the positive lead of your volt meter on the small post and the negative lead of your voltmeter to a good ground. What does your meter read?
Sorry Guys I have been to busy to mess with the truck until today,
(pdqford) I checked it with a meter and it has no power to the small post when trying to start it with the key. Were is the MASTER FUSE is it in the main fuse panel under the steering wheel? I have never heard of a MASTER FUSE, everything thing else seems to work with the key in the on position and when it's running. Could it be the ignition switch it is a little bit loose the buzzer for the door open with the key in doesn't come on unless I move it a little bit. I know I sound like I don't know much but I can build a car or motorcycle from a frame up I love doing custom work but when it comes to the electrical stuff I'm I'm sure a lot of it comes from me being color blind. Thanks for all of the help I'm sure I'll get it figured out with your help.
Power comes through the ignition switch in the 'crank' position only.
It can be the ignition switch,...the rod that actuates it from the lock tumbler..or the transmission switch (TRS).
It' one of these three locations.

Thanks I'll check those and let you know what I find out. Thanks Bill
OK I'm back me and the Wife took one of my Last Big Bucket List Motorcycle Rides. We rode up to Seattle WA and rode down the coast almost to LA then cut over back to TX. it was a AWESOME RIDE but it sure wore us out. OK I took the panel off under the steering wheel and found out someone had added something to the wiring on the switch and cut it out. I cleaned it up and replaced the switch it still will not start. So I guess I'll check the transmission switch tomorrow.
