Check engine light
The truck flashed the CEL several times and then it came on for a while went out then came on steady, engine running rough put a code scanner on it, light is out when the engine is stopped but ign switch in run no codes to extract in the run position got any ideas?

your code reader may not be able to pull the code.
What motor and year are we dealing with?
You might try Autozone or a similar place that sells auto parts. They may be able to tell you the code.

It is a 2002 7.3 turbo tried a reader from Advance Auto pulled no codes. As I stated, light goes off when the engine is not running with the ign. switch in the run position, so no codes show. The water light is NOT on, but going to put some fre
sh fuel in it. If it was an injector, being electronic, it would show a code.Runs rough, like on 6-7 cyls. but smooths out at around 2000 RPM.
