So Who makes a good a-pillar pod? I don’t need recommendations for gauges as I have those picked out. Glowshif seems to come in tan already where as the other like auto meter are grey and need to be painted. So is one better than the other? They all seem to mount the same way.
I used a glow shift in my truck because it came in black and it was just easier. Has worked for me for many years. It was also cheaper. I don’t have any experience with the auto meter one.
I have had a 3 gauge AutoMeter pod in my truck since 2006. I bought it off ebay I believe and it was pre-painted. It has been out twice in the past 12 years with no damage, so I'm inclined to buy another Autometer when I go to 4 gauges, but there's always that saying "They don't make 'em like they used to" , though I hope that wouldn't apply...
I bought a pillar pod from Clay at RiffRaff when I installed mine. The base plastic was black primer, but he sent interior matching paint and it came out very nice. Matches the rest of the interior very well and the plastic took the paint easily.
EDIT: Included a couple of pictures except the flash throws the color off. It does match very well with the other side.
Not sure what brand i bought from ebay years ago but it didnt last long . It worked great but i wasnt a fan to "advertise" whats inside my cab without having to peek. Gauges are clear as day in an A pillar....i went the 650 route
