I'll give the setup first
2001 F250 7.3 zf-6 speed trans 3.73 gears
4 in lift 35-12.5r17 Nittos
rebuilt turbo with wicked wheel 4 inch full exhaust Napa filter mod hydra chip with swamps tunes
epbv delete and full complement of gauges
this truck feels extremely sluggish when towing and my previous truck had less performance equipment on it. 140k on the motor, all upgrades have less than 10k miles on them, installed by me. Along with a fresh clutch. It tows 55 at a higher rpm than the automatic, get while on level ground roughly 900 degrees. 57 psi fuel pressure (avg) and 8-10 psi boost. Hit a hill and if i dont keep the rpms up, i rapidly lose speed with not much recovery. Egts never above 1250-1300. My other truck pulled like a beast. I just cant seem to figure out the issue. Or if this is normal, let me know.
Sounds like you might have a leaking downpipe or other boost leak. With tunes and a rebuilt turbo you should be hitting a much higher boost PSI. I would start with a boost leak test first. This would contribute to the sluggish feeling and decreased MPG. Which tunes from swamps are you running while towing, heavy tow, street, ect? Did you have any experience towing before the lift and tires with this truck? While the 7.3 make good power, learning to tow with 35's and a 6 speed will take some adjustment over stock size tires.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't considered a boost leak, though I am able to achieve 15-20psi on hard take offs. My indicated levels are at cruise speeds. In heavy tow, though I haven't tried light tow. Overdrive is completely useless as well. I can tow in overdrive, but see 2-300 degree increases in pyro. My other truck was almost the same setup, except it had the 4 speed auto. Also lifted on 35s. I'm wondering if i need to break down and install 4.10s or 4.56 gears.
I think re=gearing will help due to the tire size, but there is probably a boost leak or something else here. As you begin to climb and give it more fuel the boost should come up.
Sounds like a gearing issue. 3.73`s with 35" tires is a bad combo for towing. you are going to need 4.30`s to make it perform like it should. Have you ever recalibrated your speedo for the larger tires, maybe check it against a GPS.
I'll definitely be looking for boost leaks. Probably start by replacing all the boots since I need to change the valve covers gaskets anyway. I had swamps recalibrate the speedo through the tuner, but I'm usually running 5 mph faster than shown.
