So assembly time has come and I am trying to decide what I should for the engine color. Traditionally I have gone with the dark blue ford color. My truck is not in great shape and I plan on keeping it that way for the forseeable future so I would like the engine to really pop in a crummy engine bay. The pan is black and the heads are aluminium. Headers are stainless. I dont have valve covers yet but I am thinking of going for a vintage look with finned ones. Suggestions on color and dress up in general?
Hi guys, I am elbow deep my in my 351w swap into my 78 f100 and I am shopping around for a distributor. I kept the old dizzy from the from the 351 so I could rob the steel gear off of it as it was a F4TE block. I am thinking about buying the spectra FD51 dizzy. Is this the correct one or is there another option?
I went very old school with my roller 351 and installed a points distributor, after transferring the steel gear from the roller distributor onto the points one.
It's annoying you can't get a rebuilt (or at least couldn't when I did this) early distributor with a steel gear.
If you have a 302 it's easy, you just order one for a 1985 Mustang with manual transmission. Of course it isn't a points style though.
Nice selection of parts. We have that cam in my dads '75 F100 with a 302 but ground on a 110° LSA. Same Performer intake. We used a 1 inch spacer though. It made 345 on an engine dyno.

I replaced the performer with a high rise and added a 1 inch spacer as well.
