Coolant Junction help
Some time in the past year, I had taken my truck to Ford for some issue or another. While there, I pointed them to a leaky Coolant Junction on the passenger side behind the oil fill cap. Well, they fixed the issue and when I picked it up, they told me that they couldnt get the piece, so they fabricated a new one. So, before I go any further, let me post a picture of their work. If nothing else, it's worth a laugh:
So, what you see here is what they did. It looks like they ran down to Home Depot and grabbed these from the plumbing department and then used them to hook all of these assorted hoses together. What you CANT tell from this picture, is that every single connection is showing leakage and corrosion stains. I've been having some slow coolant leakage, and tonight I think I figured out from where.
So, to be crystal clear, this was put into my truck by a Ford Dealership.
Now, all of that being said, I'm pretty sure I'm now going to be going back into Ford and having a bitch-fest. This is not only obviously not designed to be in a vehicle, but it is also leaking at every point in the connection.
BUT, I would like to know the name of the REAL ACTUAL PART that goes there, so I can try to find one before I go into Ford. My intention is to make them eat crow, and install the RIGHT part free of charge.
So, anyone know what that part is? Or, even better, what it is and where I can find one??
Thanks!
