EFI COMPUTER
1988 F250. I've replaced my EFI computer with a rebuilt model. It lasted 3 years. Having similar problems. Is there an alternative? I'll be having the 460 rebuilt in the fall.I could go to a carb and change out the heads and manifold.

You could co carb, if you like dealing with a cold blooded truck.
Personally I would get a reman ECM with a warranty

There really is surprisingly little that you can actually rebuild on an ECU. Outside of visible problems, there are 3 electrolytic capacitors that are known to go bad. I would say replace them yourself and your ECU will be every bit as good as any rebuilt unit.Search cap replacement and you will find a lot of threads on the subject.
