I decided I would install rear pads and shoes on my truck. My emergency brake has not worked in a year and the shoes are really wore down. I can not figure out how to get the upper inner spring installed on the passenger side without removing the axle. I have worked for 2 afternoons and I am ready to pull my hair out. Would I run into any problems if I put it back together without the shoes on that side for a few weeks until I have time to get it fixed? I know I would not have a emergency brake but I have not had one for a year now. Thanks
On a side note I shake my head every time I use the little electric E-brake on our Fusion until now, I really, really hate drum brakes of any kind.
Attach upper spring to shoes, slid assembly over the axle. Then attach adjuster and lower spri ng
I know it sounds simple but the spring on my truck is so fat it just will not fit. I had someone help me do this but I can not even begin too stretch the spring enough to fit. The passenger side upper is way bigger than the driver side upper on my truck.
