Question need e-brake help - please

hi, i've had my f350 for about 5 months now and love her but... the emergency brake spring popped off as i was pushing on it a couple of days ago and i can't figure out how that dam thing goes back on. The spring just fell off and landed on my foot. the pedal still goes down but doesn't engage the brake. I have a manual so i really need the brake. Can anyone tell me if the spring is broke and if not, how to get it back on? I've enclose a picture of the spring. Thanks

I put a photo of the spring in my gallery.

If you bought your truck used, the emergency brake may be out of adjustment (Mine was and would barely hold the truck still). The emergency/parking brake is a little drum brake inside of the hub. If you have ever adjusted rear drum brakes, then adjusting the parking drums is EXACTLY the same.

It is not a servicable part, it comes as a complete unit. We sell a few of these and keep one in stock. So there is no service guides to show you.

I know. I took a picture for you of the spring in place (You can't see the whole spring without taking things apart) and put the picture in my gallery.

For $60, it might not be worth it to fix - your call though.

Mine did the same thing. I just unbolted the whole assembly from the sidewall and repaired it on my workbench. Regretably I can't remember any details on how to fix the problem other than it was a bitch rewinding the big coil spring. The repair was obvious to me once I had it on the bench. The repair has been working great for at least a couple years now.
