death wobble

Has anyone filed a lawsuit against Ford Motor Co. concerning death wobble. My 2012 F250 with 6.7 Diesel, has become dangerous to drive because of the wobble. Had the truck repaired in 2017 at a cost of over a thousand dollars, now wobble is worse than ever.

Looks like the hit all the trouble spots, trackbar and tires. In the Jeep world the most common cause of death wobble is a loose trackbar with through loose bolts or bad joints. Like, 99.999% of the time that's what it is.

I just had a really bad wobble on my 11 f350 even at low speeds but normally occurred after a tight turn. The u-joints on the passenger front axle where binding up replaced them and life is good again.

It took new tires to clear mine. Even though my tires appeared fine, they must have been slightly out of balance or round. Do you know anyone with a DW free truck you can swap tires for a test?

I had this too. The front axle has a left and right u-joint with a grease zerk. I was unaware of this and never greased them on my 2005 F250. Around 100K they both seized up, most likely from the salt in MN, causing a terrible steering issue. Even though the front hubs are unlocked, they still need to articulate for a turn. Now I grease these every year.

The things we learn sometimes a little to late. I bought my truck with 100,000 miles and I'm up to 126,000 now I never realized those u joints had grease zerk's on them guess I will have to take a closer look.

I had the death wobble on my 2010 F250 4x4 2 years ago. They changed out the track-bar, bushings, aligned everything and made sure the toe was at 0 or very slightly negative. Everything helped but still got it until I got new tires. The new tire must be rated for heavy weight. 11ply or better sidewalls. The most important part is that I had a Road Force wheel alignment. Most shops just have the old style 2 dimensional balancers and the Road Force can make it near perfect. I was told that since 90%+ tires are now made in China the density of the rubber changes as it wears along with feathering and other types of uneven wearing causing the unbalancing after just 20,000 miles.
I just started to get the death wobble again and went through all of the steps again. I just picked up the truck from the tire shop and the Road Force made the wobble go away completely.

Just fixed one over the weekend. Passenger side ujoint was the culprit. The joint was bad, lock out stripped out and tie rod end was shot.
