I am looking to purchase cab moulding for my '66 project. LMC has them for $780ish, has anyone used theirs and are they nice? Or is a better source available?
I got mine from Carpenter. They were exactly like the originals. But you might have to do a little tweaking on them to get a tight fit especially if you have replaced the floor pans also.
I need to put my glasses on before I read this stuff. I thought you typed cab mounts . I solved that expensive molding problem by welding all the holes up and just leaving the badges.
I went to their page and found their price to be good, so I emailed them and asked if they had a package with just the CAB Moulding and Hardware. They responeded with this;
Hi Eric:
I DIDN'T have a kit just for the front of the truck, but I DO now. If you'll click on this link it will take you to that page. We rarely get asked for this, but I do know there are folks out there who have Custom Cab step sides, and flat bed trucks, as well as dump trucks and wreckers, so here you go... Thanks for asking.
The new kit they now offer is $550.00 with all the hardware, so I ordered it, and am very impressed that I got a REAL response from a REAL person and actually got a very good result. Thanx to the Guys at Carolina Classics.
Not sure who has/hasn't seen these pictures of some of the (awesome!) pieces of machinery that are used at Carolina Classics to make these moldings. You can see if you look close at the set of rollers how in one pass they change a flat piece of stock into the fully formed bed moldings - other than possibly the small wraps at the ends.
